grilling chicken?

I want to make BBQ chicken thighs on the grill, but my concern is not the meat. This grid has a tendency to burn things easily, and chicken legs are quite large and take some time. We have a small gas grill – a Caddie Grill or something like it. Is it permissible to cook them first, then put them on the grill for a few minutes to get that good grilled flavor? How long recommend cooking?

Yes, bake @ 350 for about 30 min. Grill, then to offset a hot grill, turn heat on one side and cooking slow the other side with the lid closed. Do not boil ……. you lose all the flavor
